Q. What hours are you open?
We are open Monday - Saturday 9AM to 6PM. We do not close for lunch. We do close a few times each year for normal observed holidays. (Christmas, Thanksgiving, July 4th, Memorial Day)
Q. What exactly is a Pawnshop?
We do A LOT! Here’s a list of every service that we offer our customers:
Pawnshops specialize in offering short-term collateral loans to customers. A typical pawn transaction looks like this: a customer comes in with an item that they would like to pawn, we evaluate, test, and make a cash offer on the item. If the customer accepts the offer, we write the loan, store the customer’s item in the back, and the customer has 30 days to come back and pay the amount borrowed plus a service charge.
As a pawnshop we also buy items that you no longer want. The buy process is exactly like the pawn process, except you do not have the opportunity to come back and pick up your item. We purchase the item from you with the intent to resell your item in our showroom.
Our main business is pawning and buying customer’s merchandise for cash, but we also have a 3000 Square Foot showroom STOCKED FULL of quality pre-owned merchandise. We have it all! Name brand tools, quality electronics, firearms, jewelry, musical instruments and more! We are constantly restocking our showroom with new merchandise so it’s always fresh and always changing! You can typically expect to pay 50-60% of retail price for our pre-owned items.
We offer check cashing services to all customers. The process is simple. If you have a check that you want to cash, bring it into our shop and present it to us BEFORE you endorse it. We then can get you the cash for your check in a matter of minutes. It’s a quick and easy alternative to the bank!
Q. How old do you have to be to enter the pawnshop?
Absolutely ANYONE can come into the pawnshop! It doesn’t matter the age. We have designed our pawnshop to be welcoming for everyone and to make everyone feel comfortable. Although everyone is welcome, Alabama Law does require that you be 19 to sell or pawn to us. Another age requirement in our shop is applied to firearms. You must be 18 to buy a rifle or shotgun, and 21 to buy a handgun. The same age requirements are on the sale of ammunition as well.
Q. Do I have to make an appointment to pawn or sell an item?
Not at all! Everything in our shop can be done by simply walking in. If you have an item you’d like to pawn or sell, just walk in with it to the front counter and someone will assist you immediately. We do typically get busy around the hours of 9AM, 12PM, and 5PM but wait times are typically no longer than 5 minutes.
Q. What makes you different than other pawnshops?
We like to describe ourselves as a YES store. Most pawnshops are picky about what items they pawn, buy, and sell. This means that they will turn down a lot of items that you bring them to pawn or sell. We don’t believe that should be the case. We strive to be knowledgeable about a WIDE RANGE of items so that we can easily pawn or buy just about anything. There are a few exceptions to the “yes” rule. But they are few. We make every attempt to pawn and buy your item if we can. We always tell customers that we will pawn or buy anything that we can easily resell in our showroom. If it falls under that description, we’ll take it!
Q. Do you list your products for sale online?
We publish what we call “The Pull List” every single week. The Pull List is a list of items that are going out for sale in our shop each day. It’s published daily, and also sent out in a weekly email newsletter to all subscribers. This is the best way to find that item you were looking for! Keep in mind that our items do sell fast and are limited quantity. If you see something you want - act fast!
